Kylo Ren was a Force-sensitive human male who rose to power as the leader of the Knights of Ren sometime after the fall of the Galactic Empire. As the apprentice of Supreme Leader Snoke, Ren was trained vigorously as a practitioner of the dark side of the Force, and became a ruthless warlord in service to the First Order, working closely alongside other high-ranking officers such as General Armitage Hux and Captain Phasma.
In the final year of the Clone Wars, Jedi Padawan Jarik Shan experienced a vision of Kylo Ren. Shan later confronted Snoke about Ren during his encounter with him in the World Between Worlds, though Snoke responded saying he did not know who he was.
